The Next Time You’re in a Bad Mood… Do This

Yesterday, I was having a pretty tough morning.

I woke up feeling excited, but after facing one challenge after another, I felt myself quickly losing steam.

My efforts to remain positive and keep my head up, turned into an overall funk. My attitude turned sour. And my motivation to tackle my to-do list went to zero.

I knew that I didn't want to spend the entire day feeling this way, but at the same time, I felt stuck.

Being a life coach and mentor to moms I decided to ask myself the same thing I would ask the moms I serve- " How can I be intentional in this moment?"

Instantly a mom that I recently met came to mind. I reached out to her, and invited her over for a visit. She and her boys came over and hung out for the afternoon.

By the end of the day, I felt great! I felt re-connected to my purpose, connected to her, and she felt the same. We both felt that something special had taken place during our time together and we were glad for the last-minute get together.

The next time you find yourself feeling down and overwhelmed, here are a few things you can try:

1. Get up and get dressed.
2. Exercise. Preferably something vigorous.
3. Turn on some music and dance away the blues.
4. Call a friend.
5. Get outside.
6. Find someone to serve, and go help them.
7. Give something away. Your time. Money. Something you love.
8. Create a list of things you're grateful for.
9. Worship. Spend time alone with God.
10.Choose one small thing you've been putting off, and go do it.
