“Mom, what’s for dinner?”
It was a simple question–I felt like I should’ve known the answer…
…but I didn’t have a clue.
The invisible weight of motherhood weighed down my shoulders and tugged at my heart strings until tears began to flow down my face.
“Here’s the truth, being a mom is hard. AND Being a mom is wonderful.“
These two things can both be true. We don’t have to gloss over the hard, and we don’t have to pretend everything is lovely.
No matter how hard you try, you can’t avoid the hard parts of being a mom.
But if we can remember that a bad day doesn’t make us a bad mom, we will make it through the tough days.
We must learn how to close the gap between the mom we want to be and the mom we are today.
Sometimes our sincere desire to close that gap leads us to buy all the books, parenting courses, and drink deep from the well of wisdom of all the experts.
But what do you do when the experts leave you even more overwhelmed instead of helped?!
Been there. Done that.
After crying over my lack –lack of dinner plans, lack of patience– I realized that I spent most of my time trying to meet other people’s expectations of me as a mom, and I hadn’t stopped to get clear on my own.
When I shifted from looking for the answer ‘out there’ and started seeking the plans the Lord had for our family, a major shift took place.
Instead of blindly following others, it was time for me to step up and lead.
By discovering my family’s unique core-values, I crafted a framework for leadership within my family.
And now it’s your turn!

Meet My Family
I’m a real mom sharing what I have learned on this mom journey with a hope to encourage other moms along the way. It’s as simple as that.
I’ve been married to my college-sweetheart Ron for over 25 years. We are parents to 7 of my favorite people on the planet.
On any given day you will hear us talking about food (we love to eat- from guac and chips to Bulgogi we LOVE good food), our daily wins (a quick way to celebrate the day) and business. Just like sports families or political families talk about the latest games and campaigns, our family loves to talk about business strategies, leadership, and teamwork.
I whole-heartedly believe that as moms, we are managers of our homes. My goal is to use this site to reach moms around the globe to share what I’m learning. Together, let’s be more intentional with our families.
