Welcome to the Mentor 4 Moms Podcast!

On this episode:

Curiosity is the root of questions. This is what motivates us to move in closer, slow our pace, and do a double take. But to adults this is what can seem like a waste of time, Curiosity keeps you young, interesting, spontaneous, fun, and connected. Try it today.

Generosity: I can remember when I had toddlers in the house. It was a fun little game to play with them to ask for some of their goldfish, or a sip from their sippy cup. Their little faces would light up as they tried to pick which goldfish to share with mommy, or when they stretched their cute little arms out to hand me their cup. Of course, one look at the slobbery lid would cause me to pretend to take a sip.

Little ones don’t take account of what they have before they share. As adults we often feel like to give means to give up something. Children give; it’s second nature for them. Where can you show some generosity in your life?

Happiness to the point of Laughter: One of my personal goals is this – To laugh every day with each person in my family. Every single day. Adults tend think the more serious we are the more we are being an adult. But, while life can be pretty serious, it is important to laugh each day, too.

Trust: Granted, children have little life experience so of course they have a greater sense of trust than adults. They haven’t had their hearts broken, or felt the sting of betrayal, or been riddled by the self-doubt that plagues you once you’ve been deceived and you fear having that happen again.

But, trust is the gateway to joy. It’s what allows us to open up to love, to others, to life. Trust doesn’t have to mean bearing your soul and telling all of your secrets. It can look like opening up when you want to self-protect. Find a risk that you’re willing to take and move in. Get closer.

Honesty: When someone asks you this all too familiar question, “How are you?” do you tell the truth? Honesty is directly linked to trust. Trust is directly linked to Joy and laughter. Laughter opens us up to giving and generosity. And generosity connects us.
